Travel Tip For Today
Bring one pair of comfortable walking shoes as well as a pair of sandals or Tevas. Before you leave home, break in your new shoes so you're not uncomfortable on the road.
Bicycle Adventures, Olympia, Washington
Bicycling
Bicycle Adventures knows a lot about the Pacific Northwest. They should-they live there. They run some of their trips as often as 25 times in one year, and offer more trips in the Pacific Northwest than any other company. This means their leaders are very familiar with the trips and the area, and thus can greatly enhance your enjoyment of your vacation. They feel the selection of cycling routes, restaurants and inns can't be beat.
When considering the different trips, remember that the first and last day of the trips are full days-you are on the road mid-morning on the first day and finish in the late afternoon on the last day.
Essentially all meals are included on the trips. That's a real breakfast every morning, full picnic lunch every day (except for some layover days), and a complete dinner every night.
On the beginner to intermediate trips the miles cycled per day range from 15 to 40, while on the intermediate to advanced trips the range is from 30 to 70 miles. The terrain will be easier on the beginner tours. Your fellow cyclists will have varying levels of riding ability. However, on the beginning to intermediate tours there will be more beginners and fewer experts, while the reverse is true on the intermediate to advanced trips. On all of the trips there is time to enjoy the many non-cycling activities available. Bicycle rental and airport transfers are available for all trips.
While Bicycle Adventures begin with cycling trips in the Pacific Northwest, they have expanded to other sorts of travel like hiking, sea kayaking, river rafting and whale boat cruises, and they have expanded to other areas like Hawaii and northern California.
