The Hermitage is an elegant hotel right in the middle of Nashville.
THE HERMITAGE
-------------
The Hermitage, a downtown Nashville landmark just across the street from Tennessee's State Capitol, is one of the few remaining examples of the beaux arts architectural style. Originally built in 1909, The Hermitage has hosted five U.S. presidents as well as other notables including Al Jolson, Jack Dempsey, Gene Autry and Billy Graham. Totally restored in 1981 to become an elegant all-suite hotel, it is now even more elegant.
The exquisite marble lobby, accented by brass fittings and oriental carpets, sets the stage for the hotel's outstanding accommodations and fine personal service. The ballroom, with an intricately carved Russian walnut ceiling, is lovely.
Each guest suite's separate living room and bedroom are decorated in a choice of traditional, contemporary or oriental styles. The "traditional," with blue carpeting, wallpapers and draperies is most requested. The living room contains a built-in wet bar for gracious entertaining. Amenities include nightly turndown service, complimentary newspaper and lots of complimentary toiletries.
Throughout the richly-paneled Hermitage Dining Room one can see the fine workmanship of master craftsmen brought over from Germany. The continental cuisine features such delicacies as Tournedos Biarritz and Fettucine Carolina. Live entertainment nightly.
