SUMMERSIDE HIGHLAND GATHERING, Summerside.
Competitions for pipe bands, solo pipers and drummers, highland dancers and heavyweight athletes. First-rate Celtic entertainment with concerts, ceilidhs, fiddling and step-dancing. Clans, vendors, children's activities, displays and demonstrations.

Midway, giant parade, bingo, banquet and annual awards presentations, PEI Potato Ambassadorship, 5 and 10 km road race at Mill River, children's activities, horse races, co-ed softball tournament, outdoor music fest dance and fireworks.

The 41st anniversary (in 1996) of the Lobster Carnival. Street sales, world-class entertainment, mammoth street parade, lobster suppers, talent competitions, harness racing, giant midway, children's entertainment and much, much more.

"Miss Northumberland" Pageant, softball tournament, fish-filleting and scallop-shucking demonstration, races, contests, lobster suppers, local entertainment, adult dance.

PEI JAZZ & BLUES SOCIETY FESTIVAL, Charlottetown.
Major jazz and blues performers from Atlantic and Eastern Canada.

ST. PETER'S BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL AND HOMECOMING, St. Peter's Park.
Open-air concert, dances, entertainment, Blueberry Race, surf-and-turn barbecue, pancake brunch, parade.

ANNUAL HIGHLAND GAMES, Eldon, Lord Selkirk Provincial Park.
Piping, dancing and traditional athletic competitions. Concerts on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. Piping and dancing competitions on Saturday.

ANNUAL "FIDDLERS & FOLLOWERS" WEEKEND, Cavendish.
Three big fiddle shows, scores of fiddlers, including Maritime Fiddle Champions, piano accompanists, step-dancers, barbecues, lobster parties, picnics. Sunday morning hymn sing and fancy fish chowder dinner.

OLD HOME WEEK PROVINCIAL EXHIBITION, Charlottetown.
Harness racing, horse/livestock shows, midway, parade, exhibits, musical entertainment.

ANNUAL ABEGWEIT POW-W0W, Panmure Island Provincial Park.
Sponsored by the Native Council of PEI. Sweats, sunrise ceremonies, games. Traditional dancing and drumming. Breakfast and supper provided. Lunch sold on park grounds. No drugs or alcohol.

GOLD CUP & SAUCER RACE AND GOLD CUP PARADE, Charlottetown Driving Park. One of Eastern Canada's most prestigious harness races. The largest parade in Atlantic Canada is the day before the race.

ANNUAL LUCY MAUD MONTGOMERY FESTIVAL, Cavendish.
Daily performances by "Anne" and "Diana," traditional music, readings from L.M. Montgomery's work (including Anne of Green Gables), period games, ice cream social, barn dance, fish-tasting feast, memorial service for L.M. Montgomery, and more.

FESTIVAL OF THE FATHERS, Charlottetown.
On the historic waterfront in the vicinity of Great George Street National Historic District. Commemorating the "Birthplace of Confederation" and the Charlottetown Confederence of 1864. Buskers, musicians, ten-tavern tour, vintage Victorian events, dances, traditional foods and entertainment. Family fun.
