This recipe comes form the Kehrleins of Cotati, California. They got it from the caretaker lady at Gardner's Ranch in Iowa.
LACE COOKIES
Cream together:
1-1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup butter
Add the following to the creamed mixture:
1 egg - beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
Sift dry ingredients and add to main mix:
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1/4 teaspoon salt
Shape into balls and dig in sugar. Put onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until done. Bed and Breakfast Inns |
