The Dan'l Webster Inn is located on the site of a tavern built before the American Revolution, and named for its most famous 19th-century habitue.
Wood panelling, oriental carpeting, and colonial reproduction furniture dominate the Inn's lobby. A grandfather clock ticks quietly, and the warm glow of a fire invites the guest to relax and enjoy. A cozy Gathering Room offers an intimate place for reading, fame playing, or just good conversation.
Double rooms have colonial reproduction furniture including highboy dressers with matching desk set, and two overstuffed easy chairs. Elegant two-room suites are available in Fessenden House, a restored sea-captain's home. These feature canopy beds, wingback chairs, some working fireplaces and whirlpool baths. The Dan'l Webster Suite, set atop the main inn, features a king-size master bedroom with balcony overlooking the Great Marsh, a marble bathroom and Jacuzzi for two with skylight.
Complimentary cheese and crackers are served at the Devil 'n' Dan Tavern & Grille. Three dining rooms, including the glassed Conservatory, offer award-winning cuisine and wine list.
This same quality is evident at banquet functions, for which the Chef is glad to create theme dinners, or cater to special dietary needs. Numerous dance bands are available for hire, and the size and placement of the dance floor may be adapted to each banquet room. For unique entertainment, inquire about arranging a cabaret show.
In addition to the Inn's outdoor swimming pool, guests haveaccess to a local private health club, and private golf club.
The Dan'l Webster Inn requires a two-night minimum stay on weekends and some holidays, but guests will find at least two days worth of historical sights and recreational opportunities around Sandwich and nearby Plymouth.
