Designated the "Official Hotel of the Magic Kingdom," the resort is linked to the Magic Kingdom via the "Disneyland Monorail System" which loops the Park and Hotel. Special Features: Opened in 1955, The Disneyland Hotel is situated on 60 acres of lush, tropical gardens in Anaheim, California; 1,136 guest rooms with 62 suites in three towers with garden villas, 11 restaurants and lounges, a dozen shops, three pools and a sandy beach. The towers surround Seaports of the Pacific, a marina playland and international shopping, dining and entertainment attraction. The Disneyland Hotel is an award-winning leisure resort. The self-contained property has received a Gold Key Award from "Meetings and Conventions" magazine, a Merit and Distinction Award from "Medical Meetings," a Pinnacle Award from "Successful Meetings," and was named one of the nation's favorite family resorts by "Better Homes and Gardens" and "Family Circle" in annual reader polls. Family Plan: No charge for children under 18 sharing room with parents. Guest Room Amenities: Air conditioning, balconies, most rooms have view of Disneyland or Hotel Marina, color televisions with closed circuit channel and Disney Channel, and in-room snack and beverage bars. There are 216 designated non-smoking rooms. Three concierge levels in the Sierra Tower, totalling 79 rooms and suites, offer special amenities and services at an additional charge. Handicapped Accessible Rooms: There are 29 guest rooms designed to accommodate the physically challenged; wheelchair access in most restaurants, lounges, restrooms and public areas; braille in elevators. Braille menus are available in selected restaurants. The Bellhops -- Be amused by the improvisational antics and musical skills of this talented brass quintet. The group entertains Tuesdays through Saturdays from June to September, plus weekends and holidays throughout the year. Neon Cactus -- At this fun-filled country-western saloon, guests can dance and listen to the toe-tappin' music of a live band and disc jockey in rustic surroundings. Wharf Bar -- This waterfront venue spotlights easy-listening guitar ballads most evenings. Marina Lobby Lounge -- Showcases live piano music on afternoons and evenings. RESTAURANTS AND LOUNGES: Granville's Steak House -- Offers steak, prime rib, lobster and poultry specialties for dinner in the relaxing ambiance of dark-wood paneling and scenic paintings depicting the American Southwest. Recipient of Southern California Restaurant Writers Gold Award. Shipyard Inn -- A waterfront dinner restaurant featuring fresh seafood specialties. Recipient of Southern California Restaurant Writers Silver Award. Caffe Villa Verde -- A charming Italian sidewalk restaurant with everyone's favorites for lunch and dinner. Mazie's Pantry -- A sunny indoor/outdoor cafe featuring garnish-your-own-burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and salads. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Monorail Cafe -- An informal 50's-style diner open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Goofy's Kitchen -- Home of Disney Character Meals, this dining experience includes meetings with the Disney characters, an all-you-can-eat buffet and souvenir button. Breakfast and dinner served daily year-round. Bottle Shop -- A convenience store with ice cold beer and wine, soft drinks and an assortment of snacks. A selection of bottled liquor and wines is available. Marina Lobby Lounge -- Conveniently located in the Marina Tower lobby for meeting and greeting over cocktails. PLACES TO SEE: Anaheim serves as a hub to all major Southern California attractions. These include Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Medieval Times, Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, Queen Mary, Southern California beaches, Magic Mountain and Movieland Wax Museum. The Anaheim Convention Center is within walking distance. Major shows, expositions and events include Ice Capades, Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey Circus and Harlem Globetrotters. Major sporting events in Anaheim include Mighty Ducks ice hockey at the Anaheim Arena and California Angels baseball at Anaheim Stadium. The Anaheim Area also hosts concerts.
