This small, intimate inn is an ideal base for exploring the greenery of the Santa Cruz Mountains, as well as for business visits to Silicon Valley. From the outside, the inn appears to be a cozy hostelry, peaceful and parklike, in the heart of an affluent residential town. Inside, guests find a handsomely appointed upscale hotel with no pool, convention facilities, or restaurant.
Rooms are spacious and contemporary in feel, utilizing rich tones of mauve, peach, and teal. Floor-to-ceiling windows and small balconies overlook a grove of eucalyptus trees and Saratoga Creek. A separate sitting area adjacent to the windows can be curtained off from the rest of the room for added privacy or quiet. The bathrooms are double-basined, and all have built-in hair dryers; robes are provided.
Every morning, the lobby, which opens onto a lovely garden terrace, is prepared for a European-style offering of freshly baked breads and croissants, juices, and coffee. Late afternoon also brings complimentary refreshments. The inn has no restaurant, primarily because the neighborhood is replete with a wide variety of eateries, ranging from the casual Country Store Cafe to award-winning Le Mouton Noir, located in a country cottage within walking distance.
The amiable concierge can direct you to facilities for horseback riding, aerobic workouts, tennis courts, or just about anything else you might desire. Saratoga boutiques and antique shops offer great browsing, and a world of nearby attractions include wineries, gardens, Roaring Camp and Big Trees Railroad, and Great America theme park.
