The Resort at Squaw Creek in Lake Tahoe, California, recognizes that families are traveling more and are looking for programs that appeal to children of all ages. In an effort to provide children with an enjoyable and entertaining experience, the Resort created "Mountain Buddies," a comprehensive, adult supervised camp-style program for children ages 4 to 13 years old.
The Mountain Buddies program is based upon the concept of "Living, Learning and Leisure," and was designed to guarantee a balance of cultural, recreational and educational activities for the Resort's young guests. Each day children have a variety of activities to choose from that inspire, inform and entertain. Activities include:
- Living Activities: Ice skating, sledding, and snowshoeing
- Learning Activities: Science experiments, stargazing, natural history lessons, and cooking demonstrations (previous demonstrations have included creating ice cream clowns, milkshakes and rice crispy treats
- Leisure Activities: Dancing, scavenger hunts, bingo, charades, self portraits, finger painting, puppet making and table tennis
Prices for Mountain Buddies range from $35.00 for a half-day session (lunch can be included for an additional $5.00), to $70.00 for an all-day session (lunch included). Evening sessions are also available at half-day prices, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
