SERIOUSLY COOL FUN AT WINTER PARK VACATIONS TRIPLE DIAMOND WEEKEND
The entire town of Winter Park, Colorado will be taken over by outdoor winter sports enthusiasts for two days of fun, indoors and out, on Friday and Saturday, January 24 and 25, 2003.
Outdoors activities during the festival will cater to the highly competitive and fun seekers alike. The Col d'Lizard snowshoe race on Saturday morning will traverse some of the stunning scenery for which the Winter Park and Fraser Valley are famous. Event starts at 10:00 am at Beaver Village Lodge. The day ends with a post-race party, including refreshments, awards ceremony and raffle.
And there will be as much fun indoors as out! On Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:00 p.m., Winter Park will play host to the first Telluride's MOUNTAINFILM festival on tour and featuring outdoor extreme sports, with some cultural and environmental films thrown in. Tickets for the screenings are $10.00 adult, $5.00 children or $25.00 for a family ticket (up to 2 adults and 4 children).
Special lodging packages start at $85.00 per person for 2 consecutive nights, based on 4 people in a 2-bedroom condominium.
The Triple Diamond Weekend is a benefit for the Grand County Search and Rescue. Funds raised during the Festival will enable the SAR to upgrade and maintain the equipment necessary for this important work.
