Wisconsin's abundant ice supply provides fun and follies all winter long. The spectacular Ice Palace reigns supreme near Riverview Park in Eagle River from December through the end of March. Giant colorful kites take flight over frozen Lake Monona during Kites on Ice in Madison, February 3-4. The festival draws more than 60 world-class kiters, who wow audiences with stunt flying demonstrations, kite skiing, as well as indoor flying and workshops.

For those who want to go for glide on the ice themselves, Madison's Tenny Park offers an outdoor ice skating venue for the whole family with a warming house, concessions and rental skates of all sizes. The park has separate area for hockey and is lighted for night skating. Red Arrow Park in downtown Milwaukee offers a man-made ice skating rink throughout the winter.
