IRONSTONE VINEYARDS' - SPRING OBSESSION
A FESTIVAL OF FOOD, WINE, ART and DAFFODILS
MARCH 15 & 16, 2003

Each March, on the weekend of St. Patrick's Day, the quaint, gold rush town of Murphys, California explodes with festivities as the town celebrates its roots with Irish Days, and Ironstone Vineyards commemorates the coming of spring with Spring Obsession, a weekend festival that brings together food, wine, art, music and a spectacular display of over 300,000 daffodils in bloom.

Ironstone's Spring Obsession, to be held this year on March 15th and 16th, 2003 is one of the region's premier celebrations, drawing thousands of visitors and participants from around the world for a weekend of activities at the winery. Cooking demonstrations by the winners of the professional chefs recipe contest, a juried art exhibition, a children's art exhibition, dance performances and live music are all part of the celebration. In addition, The Calaveras County Garden Club and the Northern California Daffodil Society Society hold annual shows at the winery. Internationally recognized, these shows feature hundreds of rare daffodil varieties and remarkable artistic daffodil arrangements.

On Saturday evening, the winning chefs and artists are honored at the Winners Circle Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony, a four course winemaker dinner during which the winning entrČe and dessert are served, along with the culinary magic of Ironstone's Executive Chef, Daniel Lewis. The Obsession Collectors Series Poster, fashioned from the artwork of the winner in the themed art competition, is also unveiled. The Spring Obsession festivities culminate with Sunday Brunch at the winery, in the Alhambra Music Room. Tickets to Saturday's Gala Dinner are $70.00 and Sunday Brunch is $35.00. All other Spring Obsession events are free to the public.
