JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAM
Heron Island, Australia

JOIN HERON ISLAND'S JUNIOR RANGER PROGRAM
As a true coral cay, right on Australia's Great Barrier Reef, Heron Island offers young visitors lots of interesting and educational experiences. Children aged 7 to 12 can join in the fun and discovery of Heron's Junior Ranger Program during Australian eastern seaboard school holidays (or on request if there's at least three participants).

The kids enjoy hands-on activities and have the chance to earn a colorful collection of 15 badges. They'll get up close and personal with a wonderful variety of marine creatures and explore the fascinating coral cay forest and woodlands. During turtle season (November to April), they can even join the Queensland Turtle Research program's research and monitoring activities.

From reef walks and snorkeling to turtle tagging, charting the night sky and 'piloting' a helicopter, these fun and practical experiences nurture a sense of exploration and caring for the environment. A one-off registration fee of $25.00 applies for each Junior Ranger participant, with fees generating funds for the Queensland Turtle Conservation Program. Registration costs cover Junior Ranger activities, workbook and badges.

Four-night packages on Heron Island start from $295.00. All meals are included and you'll find a range of accommodations to suit your budget. For booking information on Heron Island, contact P&O Australian Resorts via email at resorts_reservations@poaustralia.com or in the USA & Canada call 800-225-9849, or visit http://www.poresorts.com.
