VANCOUVER AQUARIUM UNVEILS PLANS FOR THE WILD COAST

The new Wild Coast Exhibit in the Vancouver Aquarium in Vancouver, British Columbia, feature a series of boardwalks that allow visitors to interact with a mix of marine animals, including Whitewings, the Aquarium's Pacific white-sided dolphin, harbour seals, and seal lions. Naturalists and animal care staff are on hand to deliver unique shows and experiences that feature divers interacting with the animals several times each day.

The Wild Coast allows people to feel closer to the animals and become more involved, rather than simply watching a show. Some of the participatory activities include measuring the growth rate of sea stars or crabs, examining weird invertebrates with a microscope, listening to marine mammal sounds underwater, and comparing the weight of Steller sea lions to humans, just to name a few.

The Aquarium also offers a variety of programs for families and children of all ages, for more information visit http://www.vanaqua.org/ or call (604) 659-3516.
