Understanding children and their interests can certainly be a challenge for parents and hotel operators. But at the Outrigger Reef Fiji on Viti Levu's Coral Coast, the crew has put a lot of effort into deciding what children want from the kids club. The end result is the Takia Lailai Kids Club, a new year-round children's program that is absolutely free to the resort's youngest guests.
The Takia Lailai Kids Club offers a range of programs geared especially for young visitors. The spacious indoor clubhouse is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and it is here that kids are introduced to the beauty and splendor of the Fijian culture. There is Fijian storytelling from the village elders, hands-on demonstrations in local crafts like hat weaving and even lessons in the Fijian language. For budding biologists there's the 'On the Beach' program. Surveying the shoreline for marine life, fishing and sand sculpture contests, are just a few of the great activities offered. There's also the 'In the Pool' and the 'On the Lawn' programs.
The Double Deals package makes 'now' a perfect time to visit Fiji. Guests who book a minimum of four nights under the resort's Double Deals package pay for only two nights. Book six nights and pay for three, or book eight nights and pay for four, and so on. The package is available through March 31, 2002. Rates range from $177.00 to $496.00 (US$).
