PINEAPPLE
GARDEN MAZE A 'SWEET' FAMILY-FRIENDLY DESTINATION The
Dole Plantation, located on the Hawaiian Island of Ohau,
is home to the Pineapple Garden Maze, the "World's Largest Maze" according to
the 2001 Guinness Book of World Records. It covers more than two acres and has
a path length of 1.7 miles. The maze walls are made of pink hibiscus bush that
reach over 6 ft. high. The object of the maze is to find the six hidden stencil
stations. It takes the average person about 45 minutes to find all six. | ![]() |
| The maze is a great activity for all ages. It can be used as a venue for kids to race each other (though no running is allowed), or as a place for couples to take a romantic leisurely stroll. Entrance to the plantation is free, but admission to the maze is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Besides the maze, the plantation also houses: a pineapple variety garden with 21 varieties of pineapple from all over the world; a koi pond where visitors can feed the fish; and the Dole Plantation Center where pineapple themed merchandise and food can be purchased. The plantation is open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily and is closed on Christmas Day. If you would like more information about the plantation and maze, please visit http://www.dole-plantation.com.
